IV Push Timer: Support Guide
Stopwatch and companion app
IV Push Timer provides stopwatch timing on Apple Watch with configurable haptic intervals and optional audio tones. The iPhone companion provides settings, setup guidance and received history.
Starting and stopping
On Apple Watch, START begins a stopwatch. Pause and resume control elapsed running time. Done ends and logs a session. Auto Timeout can also end and log a session. Check the actual Watch state and elapsed time.
The iPhone companion provides settings, setup guidance and received history. It is not an independent timer, backup timing method or patient monitor. Settings and history transfers may be delayed; verify the Watch itself before use.
Auto Timeout
Auto Timeout defaults to On at 10 minutes. Choose 1 to 15 minutes or turn it Off. It limits elapsed running time, excludes paused time, and can stop and log a stopwatch session when that elapsed-running-time limit is reached. It is not an inactivity detector, does not control screen sleep and does not keep the display awake.
Turning Auto Timeout Off removes the app's timeout, not watchOS runtime limits. With it Off, stopwatch background interval notifications are scheduled only through 15 minutes of elapsed time. Do not assume unlimited background timing or alerts.
Cues, display and interruptions
Haptic intervals can be set to 15, 30 or 60 seconds. Foreground haptic cues use counted pulses of the same preset: sub-minute cues count intervals within the minute, and full-minute cues count elapsed minutes. These pulses and optional tones are timing cues, not medication instructions. Background notification patterns may differ. Haptics, sounds and notifications can be delayed, missed or unavailable. Always verify elapsed time using an appropriate independent method if app behavior is uncertain.
watchOS controls dimming, Always On behavior, sleep and return to the watch face. Focus, Silent Mode, permissions, battery depletion, software termination or restart can interrupt timing or alerts. Displayed decimal places do not establish validated accuracy. Recovery of an active timer after termination is not guaranteed.
Notifications on each device
The Watch can request notification permission after a current phone receipt is received. iPhone onboarding separately offers an iPhone permission button. Allowing notifications on iPhone does not confirm Watch permission. Check Watch notification settings independently. Permission alone does not guarantee delivery.
Shortcuts and complications
Shortcut Auto-Start and Start from Complication are separate settings, both Off by default. When enabled, an eligible launch can start an idle Watch stopwatch after the current phone acceptance has synced to Watch. They do not replace a running, paused or completed timer. Merely opening from the app grid, raising your wrist or returning to the app does not trigger complication Auto-Start.
Use the in-app Setup Guide for the saved Shortcut and Apple Watch Ultra Action Button steps. Confirm the actual Watch start state. A command or button press is not proof that timing began.
History and deletion
Watch history contains up to 50 completed timer records with identifiers, timestamps, durations and modes. It is transferred to the paired iPhone. History is not a medication administration record or proof of treatment. Clearing the phone's history does not clear the Watch and can be reversed by later synchronization. Check both devices and applicable backups. See the Privacy Policy for retention, transfer and deletion limits. Legacy countdown records from earlier versions may still appear in history; they are historical records, not an available countdown control.
Safety acknowledgment and full documents
The iPhone owns agreement acceptance: check the box before Agree; Cancel leaves the app locked. The Watch has no Agree control and waits for the current acceptance receipt from the paired iPhone. A Watch that has received a valid receipt may work offline on that same paired installation. An earlier agreement acceptance does not substitute for acceptance of a required new revision. Cancel does not erase existing history or preferences.
